It is my hope to help you find what you are looking for!
Personalities are affected by several factors, and because no two people have the exact same genetic, environmental and cultural influence, chemical make-up, and education combination, each personality becomes a unique entity, a blending of these factors. Very few people, if any, can be considered one-dimensional in character, interests, or talents; yet, how many of us have the opportunity to really explore our own unique interests in depth? How many of us have time to take up a hobby that fulfills what our regular employment doesn’t provide? If you are like I was—a workaholic—your answer would be, “I don’t know but not me.”
I discovered that there was a difference between working hard and working smart. I was really, really good at the working hard bit, but I had little to show for it besides a semi-loyal base of clients, and I was not able to build the kind of retirement nest egg I really wanted to because no matter how skilled you are, not every industry pays fairly for your expertise. In fact, I’m not sure any of them pay fairly — some pay more than what is fair, but most pay less.
So, I had two big problems—interests that I did not have time or funds to pursue and a job that was working me into an early grave with little to show for it. And then came the big Problem #3. I developed a stress-related and –aggravated autoimmune disease which nearly killed me. It’s called pemphigus vulgaris, and it is accompanied by wholesale blistering of my skin and mucosal linings, which happens when I am overstressed. Needless to say, it completely changed my life.
I had to force myself to slow down. I had to be more concerned about sun exposure and stressful situations whether that meant emotional or physical stress. In short, everything had to change. Now, I had time to pursue some old and some new interests. Photography (you've been seeing some of my work on this site already, and you can see more on ClickaSnap), laser artwork creation, smoking and grilling, and serving on the safety team at my church - just to name a few.
But, how was I to afford it? How was I to make a living?
Well, I was never one to put all of my eggs in one basket, and I’m still not. I had to find a way to make my living without all the stress of my regular job. Enter Affiliate Marketing. I knew very little about it in the beginning, but I researched it and learned more and more about how to do it, how it works, and that I probably really needed some guidance and help to break into this type of business, which I saw was a legitimate and fair way to earn at least some of my living. I also sold some of my laser artwork, of which you can see more at www.twilightdesignsstudio.com) and some smoked meats (see below). Doing either of the last two enough to make a living, though, would require more stress than I could endure. So, I do these in a manner that involves minimal stress (and minimal income), and I followed what I had learned about affiliate marketing.
